| It is said by members of certain Sasana Pyu gaings that on the 3rd waning
day of the month of Nayone in the year 1328 B.E., a meeting of weizzars was held at night
at a special place in the Himalayas to discuss matters relating to the protection and
promotion of the Buddha's sasana. The meeting decided to form nine committees for the
protection and promotion ofthe sasana. This photo is of the "Sasanapyu
Committee one" whose task is to protect and promote the sasana in the following
regions: 1. Shwedagon Pagoda - Yangon 2. Maha Myat Muni - Mandalay 3. Kaung Hmu Daw 4. Shwe Zigon - Bagan 5. Shwe Settaw 6. Kyaik Hti Yoe 7. Mingalar Cedi 8. Shwe Mawdaw 9. Pa Htodaw Gyi These above areas are known to the weizzars as the "paya koe zu" area. It is further believed by followers ofBodaw Setkyar Min that he will be guiding Myanmar to transform it into a peaceful and prosperous land where the teachings of the Buddha will shine through the lenght and breadth of the land. Bodaw Setkyar Min was saved by Bo Bo Aung and received weizzar training under this wise weizzar. The other members of the inner circle of weizzars who are doing Sasanapyu as well as Sasana protection work are: 1. San Shay Kodaw 2. Barmei Sayadaw 3. U Kanti Yathegyi 4. Ashin Pyinnya Wuntha 5. Ashin Pyinnya Gawtha 6. Ashin Pyinnya Setka 7. Ashin Uttama Sara 8. Aba Bo Pauk Sein These members belong to what is known as the "Sasanapyu Weizzar Doh Ushaung Apwe". In English it means "Supreme Council of Sasanapyu Weizzars". The term sasanapyu means the protection and promotion of the Buddha's teachings. Ushaung Apwe means "supreme council".
