Lawkachantha Datpaungsu Pagoda

Dear Dhamma friends,

There is a pagoda building project in New Jersey. We are calling for volunteers and seeking donations to build this pagoda. I am working as one of the volunteers by trying to get the message out to our Dhamma friends on the World Wide Web.

Please see the message from the America-Burma Buddhist Association below:

Universal World Peace Pagoda

& Dhamma Dormitory

Dear Friends,
On August 19, 1999 at 9:15 PM,
permission was granted to build the pagoda and the Dhamma dormitory by the township of Manalapan, the State of New Jersey.

Consequently, we will build the
Universal World Peace Pagoda and Dhamma Dormitory shortly.

In order to promote the teachings of the Buddha and the practice of Insight
Meditation (Vipassana), to build a
monument of Buddhism and Burmese
Culture, as much as you could comfortably afford, we urge you to contribute to the fund for building the Pagoda and the Dhamma Dormitory.

To dedic!ate, honor and
celebrate more than 2500 years of
Buddhism, we will enshrine more than 2500 statues of the Lord Buddha in the Pagoda.

The means of contributions include offering $500 for each statue of the Lord Buddha, offering towards the elements of the Pagoda and the Dormitory, even if it is only towards one brick, one grain of stand or one tile of roof and we urge you to contribute as far as your means allow.

You may write your check and pay to the
order of "America Burma Buddhist
Association" and send it to

""619 Bergen Street, Brooklyn, NY 11238"

or
"63 Gordons Corner Road, Manalapan,
NJ 07726."
