Mount Popa is considered to be very holy by Burmese Buddhists. Many Burmans who worship nats ( devas - celestial beings) go to Mount Popa to make offerings to the nats who reside there. It is also very important for people who are on the weizzar path as there is a shrine build on the tomb of Aba Bo Min Gaung - who is considered to be living still in spirit form. He is one of the weizzars who are promoting the sasana. Many members of brotherhoods formed for the study of the weizzar path go to Mount Popa to do their "adeikhtans". This is a special form of meditation done with the Seitbadee (meditation beads).

Mount Popa is also the home of the Popa Mei Daw who is the mother of Min Gyi and Min Galay. These two sons are now believed to be Nats. They belong to the 37 Nats which are all in the Satu Maharit plane of Devas.

A Maginificent view of Mount Popa, it is an extinct volcano in central Burma.

Many traditional healers believe that there are very potent herbs on Mount Popa.
